Ilona studied Notarial Law at the University of Amsterdam. She subsequently worked for ten years as a candidate civil-law notary, specializing in corporate law and real estate, including international matters. Since 2007, she has been working as a legal recruitment specialist, and in 2010 she founded Legal Hunters.

Her knowledge and understanding of the legal profession are exceptional. As one of the longest-standing legal recruiters in the Netherlands, she has successfully placed hundreds of lawyers and in-house counsel in new positions. Ilona understands the importance of truly listening and has a strong ability to think creatively and “out of the box.” She is a trusted advisor at board level.

Ilona has extensive experience in guiding senior associates and counsel on their path to partnership. She also excels in attracting entire teams for clients and in identifying law firms that are well suited to merge.

In 2010, Ilona founded the Legal Woman Foundation. Diversity and inclusion are close to her heart, and she is the go-to person for building a more diverse and inclusive law firm or legal team.
